A brand for the Original Modern city

Brand Manchester

We were tasked with bringing the Original Modern brand for Manchester to life. The challenge was how to roll out Peter Saville’s brand with a single signifying marque – a letter M – where the city does not have a brand, it is the brand.

We hosted over a dozen workshops with 400 senior decision makers in the public and private sector, to discuss the profile and positioning of Manchester, and created two books, Manchester Edition and Manchester Forward, setting out the challenges for Manchester in the future.
